Smartphone Live Streaming Guide | EP5: Glossary
We will use terms such as live streaming, broadcasting, or webcasting. For our particular use, they all mean the same thing. Don’t feel intimidated by any of these, as it’s simply recording something on your device, and allowing someone to watch it anywhere else in real-time.
We will talk about WiFi and Mobile Data, such as LTE.
WiFi sources can be routers, like the one you have at your home, hotspots like this one here (showing hotspot), or even WiFi hotspots created from your phone. If any of this sounds intimidating, don’t worry. We’ll make it super easy to understand.
LTE, 4G, or, 5G means using the mobile data plan on your smartphone. This is how your phone is connected to the internet when there is no wi-fi. Your mobile carrier will vary depending on your location, so we won’t be mentioning any specific companies.
